Eligibility Criteria

If you are a current student considering or undergoing any form of complaint of racism including antisemitism and Islamophobia at their university, we are offering funded group support sessions with a qualified counsellor.

Our definition of ‘complaint’ is very flexible. You may have discussed the issue with a tutor or a friend or someone on your course. You might just be considering a complaint because of what you have experienced. You don't need to be undergoing a formal complaint process to be eligible for the support sessions.

  • There will be separate sessions with different counsellors for antisemitism and Islamophobia.
  • The sessions will take place via Zoom on Wednesday afternoons starting September 2023.
  • Each session will last 90 minutes.
  • Students will receive 6 sessions that run from September to November on a fortnightly basis with the same closed group of 8 students in each support group.
  • Students will need to commit to attending all 6 of their sessions throughout this period.
  • The sessions are facilitated by UKCP registered psychotherapists who are culturally competent in delivering the sessions to different faith groups. You can read their bios on the FAQs page.
  • Each student will have a 1-1 pre-call with their therapist before the group sessions start.

If you would like to sign up to a group support session, please fill out the form below. Your information will be treated in the strictest confidence. Your information will only be seen by the relevant therapist for your chosen area of support, i.e antisemitism or Islamophobia. We only ask for the minimum information that we need in order for us to deliver the sessions. You can read our Data Protection Policy here.
